A Different German Partition by madgerman123 A Different German Partition by madgerman123
This is inspired loosely off :iconanimadefensor: idea. In this the allies think that the best idea to keep Europe safe is to make sure that Germany is not one or even two countries. Note that I changed the East German flag because the emblem won't fit on MS paint and this is an idea and I am not sure this could have worked in real life.

Here is my idea. The British use there Occupation Zone to set up the Kingdom of Hanover with the Head of the House of Hanover with the head at the time being 'The King of Hanover'. US and French Occupation zones to set up the Republic of Germany based on the old Wiemar Constitution with a few changes here and there. The USSR sets up the GDR like in our timeline.

The allies of the Second World War meet after the war is over and this is what happens:

1. Each Nation can either form there own nation out of there occupation zone.
2. If they so choose they can give up there zone or merge it with another nations and jointly administrate that zone.
3. If one nation of the ally nations fall the nation they formed will be dismantled and the surviving nations will divide up that territory.
4. A vote on German reunification will be held in the year 2045 - a full 100 years after the end of the Second World War.
5. The border between the Western Zones of Occupation and the Eastern Zone will be demilitarized.
6. Berlin is to be divided between the Allied nations fairly.

To begin with, a conservative and not a labor government would lead postwar Britain. (It must be remembered Churchill recognized Stalin for the danger he represented. He could see what was coming... the iron curtain, etc...)

Secondly, a Hanoveran restoration would lead to part of postwar Germany being closely allied with the United Kingdom. Both countries would be ruled by branches the same royal family, the House of Windsor descending from the Electoress Sophia of Hanover. Bremen would become an overseas base of the Royal Navy, etc...

Thirdly, NATO is created with 2 of the 3 Germanies as members from the start.

Fourthly, Stalin must be cautious, like a 'bull in a chinashop.' Not pretty to see.

What are the capital cities? I bet:
Kingdom of Hanover - Hanover or Hamburg (despite it includes Bonn)
People's Republic of Prussia - Berlin
Bavarian Republic - Frankfurt or Munich
BTW similar map is here.

For Hanover I think that I would be Hanover. For East Germany it would be Berlin and for the Republic it would be Munich.

Yeah that is it for the most part and that the French and American form a republic instead of a Federal Republic.

I think eliminating Germany off the map could be a more fitting punishment. To keep with this, it would be necessary that two countries be renamed: Republic of Germany should be renamed to Bavarian Republic while East Germany is renamed to People's Republic of Prussia.

the individual citizens don't make war... but they pay for what a handful of people in power decide to do. you should read about the Soviets did the Berlin... the women and girls of Germany paid dearly.

I think, Russia should never had been fighting for other countries, there were wars with nothing in return for that country. This way we'd have the same thing. Hate. There is always hate, no matter what. Now, history, how many of you at least opened the book? How many have read one? Russia is a country with rich history, most of which residents of other countries don't bother to learn. It's a great country. As for mistakes, every country has them. No country is saint. But Russia is quite special in my opinion. A good country.

Would Queen Elizabeth II be queen (or king) of Hanover, or would Hubertus?

The King would be this man en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ernest_A… since he was the first head of the House of Hanover.

Seems legit and I support the Kingdom of Hanover. It was in personal union with the United Kingdom after all.

I feel in this timeline from the four World Cup won by Germany.
Kingdom of Hannover getting one or two, Netherland getting two or one and Hungary's one, and Republic of Germany getting the latter.

I know a lot. It is mostly looking at the finals which German won, and who came second. and then accepting they would win one or two depending on where the players are based. Kingdom of Hanover representing West Germany.
